Promotions Offers Free Fleece Blanket to New DISH Network, STARZ!/Encore Customers
Littleton & Englewood, Colo., Nov. 3, 1999 Encore Media Group LLCs (EMG) premium movie service STARZ! and EchoStar Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: DISH, DISHP) are partnering for an extensive promotional campaign in approximately 1,600 Sears stores nationwide. The promotion offers a free STARZ! fleece blanket, a $40 value, when a consumer purchases a DISH Network system (free after rebate) and orders the Americas Top 100 CD programming package and STARZ!/Encore Movie Package. The promotion will run through Dec. 31.
"Cozy Up to Hit Movies This Season" is the first joint national retail campaign for EchoStars DISH Network and EMG. DISH Networks STARZ!/Encore Movie Package consists of four screens of EMG channels including STARZ!, STARZ! Theater, The New Encore and Westerns.
The campaign marks a high level of integrated marketing promotions and brings together programming and marketing elements to create an appealing offer for potential DISH Network and STARZ! subscribers.

STARZ! is the first-run premium movie service from EMG, offering exclusive movies from Universal Pictures, Miramax Films, Touchstone/Hollywood Pictures, New Line Cinema and Fine Line Features, among others. Subscribers to STARZ! will see exclusive premieres of many recent Hollywood hits, such as Enemy of The State, Patch Adams, A Civil Action, and Babe: Pig in the City.
DISH Network is EchoStar's state-of-the-art DBS system with the capability to offer 500 channels of digital video and CD-quality audio programming, fully MPEG-2/DVB compliant hardware and installation. DISH Network is a trademark of EchoStar Communications Corporation and serves over 3 million customers.
